The practical course in English phonetics is to help the students to develop their own pronunciation habits and to enable them to teach English pronunciation to others.

The course is primarily concerned with the phonetic system of English which consists of the following four components: speech sounds; the syllabic structure of the words; word stress; intonation (prosody).
